Artist Bio

Welcome!

image

Daniel Cabuco always had a huge imagination and loved drawing since he was a child. After high school, he decided to take the leap and pursue his lifelong dream of becoming an artist. After studying at the Art Center College of Design, he was able to merge his love of computer games with his passion for art in the video game industry. It’s a passion that never waned as joined companies such as NovaLogic, Crystal Dynamics, and The Collective.

He was excited to join Spark Unlimited as a 17 year veteran after having worked as an Art Director or Art Lead on such notable titles as Tomb Raider: Legend, Tomb Raider: AnniversaryLegacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Other titles include Tomb Raider: Underworld,  F-22 Raptor, Comanche 3, and Armored Fist. His work was recently published in ‘The Art of Tomb Raider’, from Dreams and Visions Press.

In his free time, Daniel likes to sketch monsters, hike, play video games, read fantasy/sci-fi novels, collect art books, visit galleries, watch kung-fu films, lecture about art in the game industry, and practice fire dancing.

It is with great pleasure that I introduce Lost Planet 3 (out now!). I have been serving as Art Director for the better part of three years, and I couldn't be happier with the team and the art we were able to produce.

I won't reveal anything more than this annoucement at this stage, but I can tell you that we showed really well at E3, winning Game Informer's Best of Show award.

"Solid art direction is everywhere with excellently detailed characters and environments plus the aforementioned performance capturing and sound adding up to a game that draws you in right away."

Services Overview Preview Praise for Lost Planet 3

"Coming out of E3 2012, it was Lost Planet 3 and not Resident Evil 6 or DmC that had people praising Capcom. Having gotten a chance to play that demo in a quieter, less rushed setting at an event in New York last week, I can say that Lost Planet 3’s reputation is well earned. It’s a beguiling game, and not for the reasons you might suspect. There’s a strong heart pumping beneath this game’s icy veneer."
